Services Provided by Periodicals Reading Room --
Brief Instruction Course:
Users who would like to learn about the resources and services provided by the Periodicals Reading Room can join a 30-minute brief instruction course. This course covers how to search for periodical literature and how to request retrieval services at NCL.
The brief instruction course is held at 2:30 PM every Wednesday, provided there are at least three people who have made an appointment to attend. Additionally, groups of three or more can schedule an appointment for a specific time (please refer to the Application Form for details).
To make an appointment:
1. Call (02) 2361-9132 Ext. 305.
2. Fill out the "Brief Instruction Course on Periodicals Application Form" and submit it to the Periodicals Reading Room Service Counter, or email it
to: jen@ncl.edu.tw.
3. Appointments must be made at least two days before the requested course date.
4. The course is available between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday.
1. Introduction to the periodicals collections at the National Central Library.
2. Overview of periodicals in closed stacks and open shelves.
3. Instructions on how to request periodicals from closed stacks.
4. Searching for, printing, and downloading open-access articles.
5. How to obtain non-open-access articles.
6. Steps for registering to use a computer at the NCL.
