National Central Library held a customized Young Scholars Cultivation Camp for high school and vocational school students in Taiwan. Through group discussion and practical application, scholars and experts taught and shared their experiences and methods of conducting research, ways to search for resources, tips for generating research questions, guidance for writing scholarly papers, and hacks for creating online surveys. This was a strong introduction into the world of scholarly research for these high school students.
The NCL first held this camp in 2015, which was well-received by high school teachers, parents, and students. This year marks the fourth year of the camp and the first year it was also held in central and southern Taiwan. The camp ran from July 9-27, 2018 held respectively in the NCL (from July 9 to 13), Taichung Jingwu Library (from July 16 to 20), and Kaohsiung Main Public Library (from July 23 to 27).
