Increased COVID-19 Preventative Measures for NCL Study room

The study room at National Central Library is a great place for students to study in preparation for tests. It is also an important place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Ensuring each person’s health is everyone’s responsibility!

 

The study room at NCL has instituted newmeasures in an increased effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus(COVID-19): before entering, patrons must have their temperatures taken andtheir hands disinfected with hand sanitizer; study room requires patrons have asurgical mask on at all times—those who do not will not be allowed to enter; before the library opens each day, the cleaning crew will have disinfected thereading rooms and wiped down the chairs and tables with alcohol; a sanitizermachine will be placed at the entrance for patrons to use; the windows oneither side of the study room will be opened to allow for better aircirculation; acrylic splash shields have been installed between the 238 seatsto reduce the risk of infection via airborne particles.

 

Since March 24th, study room has increased the distance between study tables. Since April 21st, the original 238 seats would be decreased to 98 seats to further reduce the risk of infection. The new seating arrangement is as shown on the chart above. Patrons desiring to use the study room is advised to enter as indicated on the chart. Wewish students preparing for examinations the best of luck! We also hope that this pandemic will subside quickly!
