On the afternoon of November 1, 2024, Professor Chi Tim Lai from the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) led a team of four members, including Deputy Director of the Research Centre for Chinese Studies in Asia-Pacific Dr. Ka Yip, Administrative Officer Ms. Lai Lai Lai, Assistant Project Director Ms. Tzu-Jou Su, and Assistant Digital Project Director Mr. Yiu Bong Fung, to visit the National Central Library (NCL) for an exchange seminar on the development of digital humanities overseas.
The NCL Deputy Director-General, Dr. Chih Tsung Weng received the visiting team and hosted the exchange seminar. During the meeting, Ms. Tzu-Jou Su from CUHK introduced the " Digital Repository of Rare Books, Calligraphy, and Paintings of Guangdong Literati and Gentry from the Ming Dynasty to the Republican Era" while Dr. Yip Ka presented an analysis of digital humanities technologies and shared the research outcomes of her “Network Analysis and Periodical Translation” project. Following the presentations, staff from the NCL’s Special Collections Division, Knowledge Services Division, Digital Knowledge System Division, and Center for Chinese Studies engaged in bilateral discussions on various aspects of their work.
