Participation in the 2010 AAS Meeting

The 2010 sixty-second annual meeting of the US Association for Asian Studies (AAS) and its associated book exhibition took place on 25-28 March in Philadelphia. The meeting attracted over 3000 scholars and professionals in the field of Asian Studies from all over the world. There were 133 booths from 93 different academic institutions, organizations, and publishing companies, including NCL, which participated in both the conference and book exhibition as usual. At the book exhibition, NCL primarily presented government-published materials related to Chinese studies in the fields of the humanities and social sciences from the last three years. The NCL’s booth displayed over 352 titles of books and CD/DVD disks, totalling 404 volumes, bringing quality publications from Taiwan to the world stage and placing them in the hands of avid readers. Over the course of the meeting, NCL representatives also made a visit to the historical Philadelphia Public Library and the oldest library organization in the United States, The Library Company.
