The “Pacific Neighborhood Consortium” (PNC) is an important international organization that meets annually. It aims in promoting national information exchange and circulation among the countries in the Pacific Rim. It is an important information technology and academic exchange platform. The NCL regularly participates in the annual meeting, and organizes several digital library screenings, inviting scholars to discuss issues related to the development and sharing in library digitization. This year the 2015 Annual Conference and Joint Meetings were held at the University of Macau on the 27th to 29th of September . NCL Director General Shu Hsien Tseng together with two colleagues attended and participated in the poster exhibition. She served as the moderator on “Digital Libraries”.
This year the “Digital Libraries” event was held in the morning of September 28 on the theme "Innovative digital services of academic libraries". Invited speakers were Prof. Hao-Ren Ke, University Librarian of National Taiwan Normal University library; Kwok-Keung Wong, Assistant Librarian, University of Macau Library and Editor Chia-Ning Chiang from the NCL. They spoke on three topics respectively: 1. "Development of Semantic Digital Library Services with Linked Data", 2."The Development of Digital Library of Macau between 2000-2015", 3. "TCI: Towards a Rigorous Citation Index ". They also exchanged views with the library professionals worldwide.
