NCL created Taiwan eBook (taiwanebook.ncl.edu.tw) to make important academic research available to the entire world. A total of 13,778 volumes of digitized works are now ready for access, of which 12,178 were published between 1911-1949, 595 are government publications, and 1,005 are authorized works by professors. These are made freely available online with the hope that Taiwan eBook will become an important international resource for Taiwan studies. 

The opening ceremony, titled Good Books Travel Thousands of Miles: World Access to Taiwan eBook, was held on November 8. The full-text database was on display at the event, and collaborating libraries and government agencies were presented with certificates of appreciation. As of October 2016, ten organizations were collaborating with NCL. A total of 91 government agencies participated in the digitization and authorization of government publications. Also, 357 scholars gave permission for their works to be made available.
