NCL holds the Pingtung County Foundation Training Course in Public Library Management

To assist Pingtung County in improvingits library services and enhancing the professional skills of its librarystaff, the National Central Library (NCL) recently held the Pingtung County FoundationTraining Course in Public Library Management. Seven scholarly experts wereinvited to give lectures. The course’s opening ceremony took place on June 3.NCL Director-General Tseng expressed the NCL’s dedication to assisting localpublic libraries with the training of their library staff. The NCL activelyvisits local areas to keep library information professionals abreast ofdevelopments in the field, enhancing their professional sense of achievement.

The training course consisted of seven sessionsheld over four days with the following themes: Library Space and EnvironmentDesign; IT and Internet Management; Access to the NCL’s Digital Resources and E-LearningCampus in practice; Collection Development and Library Acquisition; ReferenceMaterials and Services; Quality Management and Client Satisfaction; and ReaderServices and Reading Promotion.

The 4-day traing course was attended by 32 locallibrary staff from all over Pingtung County.
