The Young Scholars’ Cultivation Workshop kicked off on July 24 and ended on August 11. The NCL has organized a camp especially forsenior high school students, called the Young Scholars’ Cultivation Workshop.The camp uses competition and practical work to guide young scholars towards theacademic research, increasing their familiarity with research resources and academicwriting ability. This year is the third year of the camp. The first of thecamp’s three stages began on July 24, 2017, with each stage lasting five days.
Professional library staff have been invited to lecture for each of thecourses. Students work together on a variety of group tasks in a relaxed,positive atmosphere. They discuss research questions; read and analyzedocuments; learn how to design, send out, and analyze questionnaires; andpresent their research findings. The camp gives young students the opportunity tospend some time away to experience a taste of academic research.
