The 2017 NBINetPolicy Committee Meeting and the NBINet Librarian Consortium Meeting were heldon December 21 at the NCL. The policy committee met in the morning. DuringDirector-General Tseng’s remarks she emphasized that now is the era ofcollaboration and connection. Director-General Tseng hopes that in the futurethere can be even more collaborative innovation which make the materialscontributed by each library effect a greater influence. Attendees activelydiscuss such topics as value-added uses of books, selection of Chinese nameauthority identification code, librarian competence workshops, and means toencourage collaborative cataloging of books.  

The NBINet Librarian Consortium Meeting was held in theafternoon. In addition to a brief report on operations atthe National Bibliographic Information Network, this year’s meeting also discussedsuch issues as changing venues for future meetings, touring and visitingforeign book centers, etc. Another main purpose for this meeting was tore-elect the policy committee. With the assistance of those in attendance, theeighth policy committee was selected.
