Renowned Harvard professor Peter K. Bol invited more than 100 sinologists, library studies scholars, and database architects to gather at the “International Conference on the Cyberinfrastructure for Historical China Studies” at Harvard Shanghai Center from March 14-16, 2018. They introduced various NCL systems delivering digital content to the conference, including the Contemporary Celebrities’ Manuscripts, Digital Humanities Platform for Chinese Ancient Books, E-Publication Platform, and National Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations in Taiwan.

The aim of this conference was to define the types of facilities needed to establish a cyberinfrastructure for Chinese studies research. Through sharing information about their individual established cyberinfrastructures, conference attendees could also participate in interdisciplinary discussions, gain understanding of the tools needed for digitizing different types of text, and share the latest technological and systemic developments for their platforms.
