On the afternoon of October 14, 2024, a delegation from Jagiellonian University in Poland, led by Professor Wladyslaw Witalisz, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, visited the National Central Library. The delegation included five scholars: Professor Jadwiga Kita-Huber, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Philology; Professor Ewa Zajdler, a sinologist-linguist from the Japanology and Sinology Department; Dr. Sebastian Wielosz, a sinologist-linguist from the Japanology and Sinology Department; Ms. Maria Jarosz, a sinologist; and Ms. Yi-An Shi. The purpose of the visit was to engage in an exchange of views on library management and academic cooperation.
Professors Kita-Huber and Dr. Wielosz introduced their library's Berlin Collections and Libri sinici Collections. Ms. Li-ling Lin, a specialist in Special Collections, gave a presentation to the delegation, introducing NCL's preservation of ancient Chinese books and digitalization achievements. Both sides also exchanged views on various aspects of their work. After the exchange meeting, colleagues from the Special Collections Division and the International Cooperation Division accompanied the delegation to visit the Rare Book Room and Center for Chinese Studies.
