His Royal Highness Prince Buhlebenkhosi Dlamini, accompanied by Assistant Professor Ean Chen of Shih Chien University and Mr. Shaddrack Mamba, Swaziland military attaché visited the NCL. This is the 2nd royal visit following the first visit of HRH Princess Sikhanyiso Dlamini in 2012. Director General Tseng Shu-hsien personally welcomed HRH and accompanied him to visit the Center for Chinese Materials Division, Rare Books Room, the Digitization Center and other services facilities.

HRH Prince Buhlebenkhosi Dlamini showed keen interest in NCL’s collections, space management, digital collections and readers’ services. At the Digitization Center, HRH carefully watched the operation of the country's first automated scanning machine, the ScanRobot. He was amazed by the NCL’s digital archive achievements, the various types of database retrieval systems facilitating readers to find and browse information through the internet. Having understood that readers can use the study carrels and discussion rooms, he expressed the desire to come back to the library and experience their use. On the spot, he asked for a library card application.

HRH Prince Buhlebenkhosi Dlamini was also impressed by the the various reading and cultural promotion activities sponsored by the NCL. He hopes that there will be more cooperation opportunities with the NCL in the future. Director General Tseng welcomed the bilateral cooperation and invited HRH to participate in the various reading activities as well. She looks forward to cultural exchanges promoting mutual understanding between the two nations.
