Deputy Director General, Xinmin Zhang from the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC), led a delegation of 4 colleagues to visit the National Central Library to get to know the NCL collections, its premises and service. The ISTIC as a national research and service institute is subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Technology, with a National Engineering Technology Digital Library, providing journals, technical reports, dissertations and other resources. Deputy Director Zhang and his colleagues discussed with NCL especially with the NCL staff responsible for "National Digital Library of Theses and dissertations in Taiwan". They discussed matters related to cross-strait theses and dissertations: their legal deposit and regulations, the current situation, difficulties and challenges they encounter.
