Spring is Coming – National Central Library Invites You to Travel with “Poems”

For the purpose of promoting national reading program and raise the level of national reading ability, National Central Library made an effort to invite all types of libraries, government agencies, and local groups to jointly hold all kinds of reading activities. In the beginning of 2013, National Central Library will hold a series of special speech with the topic of “Spring – Travel with Poems” and invite the public to come to the library for feeling spring by reading and to be soaked in the natural landscapes described by poets, as well as in their description of humane scenes and views, all that travel along with poems. National Central Library Director-general Tseng Shu hsien said it’s a good time to read in spring while the weather is so pleasant. She further emphasized that reading poems with rich rhymes, rhythms, and meaningful words can certainly reveal our thinking and inspiration, as well as cultivate our disposition; hence, National Central Library has planned a series of special speech and subject book fair, with a focus on “poems.” It’s hope that hope by way of speech, introduction to reading, and good book display, we could create an atmosphere of reading poems in spring, lead the public to enjoy the beauty of reading poems in spring, and furthermore, let the reading become the habit of daily life for individuals.
The activities which include seven sessions of special topic will be held from February 23 to May 18 at International Conference Hall, National Central Library. The invited scholars and poets making a speech include Yu Tsai, Kuo-nan Hsu, Chin-yuan Hu, Tze-hsiung Yan, Hsi-te Wu, Hsian Yang, and Tze-Chen Lo.
