NCL and Catholic University of Leuven Library Sign a MOU
NCL and Catholic University of Leuven Library Sign a MOU

NCL Director General Tseng met with Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) Library Director Hilde Van Kiel to sign a MOU on the Union Catalog of Chinese Rare Books on December 9th, 2015. This marks the 68th participating institution in the union catalog created by the NCL.

KU Leuven's Sinology Department is Belgium's most important institution for teaching and research on Chinese studies. Its East-Asian Library currently has more than 40,000 volumes, of which Chinese publications number 26,000. The library contains the most important Chinese collection in Belgium.

In addition to signing the MOU, the NCL also donated a replica of a national treasure in Taiwan, a replica of the Diamond Sutra that is six hundred years old. Director Hilde Van Kiel also presented the NCL with publications of their own.
