NCL Participates in the 2016 Council of East Asian Libraries (CEAL) Annual Meeting and Gives a Presentation

The 2016 CEAL Annual Meeting was held in Seattle from the 28th of March to the 1st of April on the theme: "Librarianship: in Building Unique Online Resources Through Institutional Collaboration"

The CEAL is composed of East Asian Libraries in North America, and is divided into three standing Committees: "Committee on Chinese Materials" hereinafter referred to as CCM, "Japanese Materials Committee", "Korean Materials Committee". This year, CCM set up three reports. The NCL was invited to its Regular Session to share its experience.

The three reports in order are as follows:

1. Zhejiang University Library in China reported on Digital Resources Building and Digital Humanities in CADAL

2. The University of Washington Library and Canada University of British Columbia (UBC) Library reported on "Collaborating to Provide Access to Rare and Special Collections at the University of Washington and the University of British Columbia" . Assistance was provided for the users to access to the rare books and special collections of both libraries.

3. With "Promoting open access to digital resources in the National Central Library in Taiwan" as topic, the NCL introduced the resources that many organizations jointly constructed and promoted in recent years that are available for public access. These include: E-publication Platform System, the ATM (e-book ATM App), the National Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations in Taiwan, the Taiwan Citation index - Humanities and Social Sciences, and Contemporary celebrities' manuscripts and the status of other resources.

To promote the author's permission and willingness to expand the dissemination of knowledge, a variety of outreach activities were organized.
