NCL Hosts Two Lectures by Children’s Authors

Steve Antony, whose Mr. Panda series has become a bestseller worldwide, was awarded Briatain’s Oscar’s Book Prize in 2014 for the first time for his book The Queen's Hat. He was also a finalist in England’s WaterstonesChildren's Book Prize. His book Please, Mr. Panda was selected as the Best Children’s Book by theSociety ofIllustrators in New York. His lecture at NCL was filled with humor and wit ashe spoke about his creative content and his passion for illustrated books. Heeven drew interesting pictures during his talk (such as a squirrel, a donut,etc.). His interaction with the audience brought the lecture to an excitingclimax.


Mr. YannetsLevi is one of the most popular authors for adults and children in Israel. Hehas published nine bestselling books. He spoke on his experience creating Uncle Leo’s Adventures and When Grandpa Jonah Was Just a Kid,stating that in writing children’s books one can take two people or things thatseem unrelated and bring them together. In doing so he reevaluates experiencesand thinks more deeply as he pieces stories together. In addition, creative worksdo not have a set method. He hopes that his stories can be published indifferent media and platforms.
