Italian Parliament member (also a member of the Italian Parliament Taiwan Friendship Group) Senator Salvo Fleres and Vice President of Catania Sebastiano Catalano led a business delegation from Sicily to visit the Matteo Ricci and Pacific Studies Reading Room and Rare Books Room at the NCL. The visitors were accompanied by Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office in Taipei Vice Representative Mr. Giuseppe Semenza. NCL Director-general Karl Min Ku presented a copy of the Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra newly published by the library to Senator Fleres, who is also the director of the Library of Sicily, opening the way to further exchanges between the two sides.
